It is a commandment to count the 50 days from the First Day of the Omer to Shavuot. Sunset on Saturday, April 19th marked the first day of the Omer. The Omer should be counted each evening after the evening prayers. Remember that the Biblical day begins at sundown, so count the following day's number. Read Psalm 67 each day of the Omer. Blessing for Counting the Omer: "Blessed are You LORD our God, King of the Universe who has sanctified us with his commandments and commanded us concerning the counting of the Omer. Today is ____ days of the Omer."
