Places to Grow: Kehilat Sar Shalom and Beth Yeshua

Let us not give up meeting together,
as some are in the habit of doing,
but let us encourage one another—
and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:25

A Decade of Spiritual Growth

For the past fourteen years, Kehilat Sar Shalom of Saint Paul has been studying the Hebraic roots of our faith in Messiah. There is no other congregation in the Twin Cities Area with the teaching record of Sar Shalom – it has become a place to grow spiritually. Many of the people attending Sar Shalom have been sent out to instruct others in the Hebrew roots of their faith. These people have been trained to reach their full potential in the Kingdom and everyone attending this congregation has the same opportunity.

Seven years ago, the founder of Sar Shalom, Rabbi Stan Farr, went to Duluth to begin a new work. Beth Yeshua grew almost overnight to more than 70 members and it continues to prosper to this day. Of the original members, many are now ministering to the community of Duluth. Beth Yeshua offers Sabbath morning service led by paster Tim Anderson.

Beth Yeshua has outreach, prayer, dance, and two complete worship teams, a children’s Sabbath School program, and teen, men’s, and women’s groups. Willing and able members within the congregation deliver sermons and Torah commentaries allowing, and encouraging, everyone to be involved and ministering in some capacity.

While Stan was in Duluth, Kehilat Sar Shalom continued to teach the Hebrew roots and train people for a variety of roles in the ministry. A temporary pastor, the elders and laypeople became a replacement for Stan, during his absence. Others in the congregation developed and took on the roles of worship and dance leaders, Torah commentators, and Hebrew teachers, while others were taught to teach the children.

Now that Stan is back at Kehilat Sar Shalom on Sabbath mornings, as well as Erev Shabbat, Kehilat Sar Shalom is preparing and training people for new areas of ministry. New Twin Cities congregations will be birthed out of Sar Shalom in the coming years.

The point is this – what is your potential in the Kingdom of God?

Are you realizing that potential? Kehilat Sar Shalom and Beth Yeshua are both places where you will grow spiritually, learn the Hebrew roots of your faith, and begin to discover the gifts that Yeshua has blessed you with and longs to see used for the glory of His Kingdom. You can receive hands-on training in any area of Messianic ministry you are called to – there are no “pew sitters” in our congregations. We train people to be doers of the word.

Teachers are trained to study and teach the Hebrew roots, musicians are trained in Messianic music, children’s workers are given the most inspiring and fulfilling teaching materials in the body of Messiah today, and people are taught to worship Yeshua in the dance – just as David did. You can even learn the Hebrew language or take a trip to Israel.

If you are interested in the Hebraic roots of your faith and you want to grow in Messiah, then why not come on out to Kehilat Sar Shalom or Beth Yeshua for a visit. Begin a journey TODAY to become all that you can be in Messiah. There is no better time to get involved as Kehilat Sar Shalom and Beth Yeshua are exploring new avenues of outreach and ministry.
